John Fletcher is renowned as one of the foremost authorities on deer. Over the last thirty years his work has taken him to Uist in the Outer Hebrides, to Abu Dhabi, the Swiss Alps and Japan.

Despite being told by livestock breeders that deer could not be domesticated and with no subsidy from government, Fletcher established an award-winning deer farm in Fife proving that there was a market both at home and abroad for humanely-reared venison.
